LAM researchers participate in numerous observation and analysis programs aiming at exploring the universe from the solar system to the most distant galaxies.

Researchers make use of the major ground and space-based telescopes from national and international agencies (CNES, CNRS, ESA, ESO, NASA...). The LAM is one of several French laboratories qualified as a “space sciences laboratory”. The LAM includes large technical equipment that allows it to manage and develop space-based projects from the design to the integration phases in space environments.

The LAM’s participation in instrument development assures its teams’ privileged access to major telescopes and instrumentation.
